FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The latest winter storm Fairfield County is contending with began as snow in the mid-afternoon Saturday.
A winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service, has been extended till noon Sunday. It had originally been in effect until 8 a.m. Sunday.
Snow arrived around 2:30 p.m. in most parts of the area Saturday, with a total accumulation of between 4 and 6 inches possible.
Snow will mix with freezing rain overnight, followed by a mix of snow, freezing rain and rain toward dawn Sunday.
Sunday's high temperature will be between 36 and 38 degrees with skies becoming partly cloudy by evening.
The outlook for Monday is mostly sunny and cold, with a high temperature in the mid teens.
