Expect mostly sunny skies Wednesday as a cold front moves slowly across the area. Temperatures will approach record levels one last time this week.
The cold front is expected to stall south of the region Wednesday night, then slowly lift back north as a warm front on Thursday.
This will result in mostly cloudy skies and a 50 percent chance of showers for Thursday and Thursday night. Temperatures will begin to turn noticeably cooler in the mid-60s, although highs will still be above normal.
Showers are likely again on Friday, under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 70. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent, with rain continuing into the evening. New precipitation of a quarter-inch to half-inch is possible.
Saturday will feel a bit more like fall, with partly sunny skies but cooler temps with a high near 56. By the overnight, temperatures will dip to a low of 38 degrees.
Sunday will be mostly sunny, with a high again near 56 degrees.
