According to the National Weather Service a weak high pressure system will pass through the area Wednesday, bringing rain Wednesday night, but will dry out Thursday, Dec. 31, as a high pressure system pushes into the area from the West.
Temperatures will continue to be a few degrees above normal, with highs ranging from the low 40s inland to near 50 degrees along the coast, the Weather Service said.
Today: A slight chance of showers after 3 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph. Chance of rain is 20 percent.
Tonight: Rain likely, mainly between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Patchy fog after 10 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a steady temperature around 41. Chance of rain is 70 percent.
Thursday: Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 46.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27 degrees.
New Year's Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.
