Sikorsky Memorial Airport Building Goes Up In Flames In Bridgeport

An early-morning fire at a Connecticut airport severely damaged a building in Fairfield County.

Firefighters responded to Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Bridgeport around 6:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, after a blaze broke out at the Civil Air Patrol building.

The 1.5-story structure was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and no injuries were reported.

The Bridgeport Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
