New London County resident Reginald Collins, age 59, of New London, turned himself in to Connecticut State Police on Wednesday, April 24, for the Friday, April 21, 2023, crash on I-95 in Groton.
According to an arrest affidavit, Collins was driving southbound on I-95 South on the Gold Star Memorial Bridge when his steering "felt funny," and the "car began to jump" on his Toyota Avalon. Collins had just purchased used tires for the vehicle.

Hit-Run: Stratford Man Charged With Killing 19-Year-old Woman
Police have arrested a man for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 19-year-old Fairfield County woman.
Troy Watley, age 28, of Stratford, was arrested on Saturday, July 1, after he allegedly hit and killed the 19-year-old shortly after 12 a.m., near St, Michael’s Cemetery on Stratford Avenue and then fled from the scene, said Capt. Frank Eannotti, of the Stratford Police.
When Stratford police arrived on the scene they found Michelle Rodriguez, of Stratford, lying in the roadway, Eannotti said.
She was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital where she died from her injuries.

An 82-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Old Greenwich woman who was allegedly hit by his vehicle.
Charles P. Graves, of Riverside, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 9, in conjunction with the death of Regina Dowling, 63, on Nov. 29, 2019, said Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry.
According to police, Graves was driving his vehicle on South Beach Avenue when he allegedly improperly turned onto Station Drive South, striking Dowling as she was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk, Berry said.

Ronald Patterson, of Bridgeport, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the April 6 crash that left his passenger, Dawaan Edwards, dead, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.

Michael Alan Vitti, 19, was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane and distracted driving (not a cellphone), according to state police.
Vitti, who state police say was distracted while driving, hit and killed Gerard Mauskapf, 64, of Red Hook in Dutchess County near Exit 11.
