Hartford Police Not At Fault In Inmate's Death, Report Says: 'This Is A Sad Case' A Hartford woman who told officers she had recently used fentanyl was found dead inside a city jail cell, a state investigation determined. Linda Praylow, 49, was discovered unresponsive in her holding cell at the Hartford Police Department early in the morning of April 5, 2024. She had no pulse and was later pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital, according to the Office of Inspector General Report.  An investigation by the Office of the Inspector General concluded that Praylow died from acute fentanyl intoxication, made worse by underlying cardiovascular disease. CT Inspector General Investigating After Woman Dies In Police Custody The Connecticut Office of Inspector General is investigating the death of a 49-year-old woman who was in police custody. Linda Praylow, of Hartford, died in a holding cell on Sunday, April 7, while in the custody of the Hartford Police. She was arrested on Friday, April 5, for two outstanding warrants and held on a $20,000 bond. Police did not say what the warrants were for.
