Sandy Hook Man Charged By Westport Police With Issuing Fraudulent Checks WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Sandy Hook man is facing a pair of charges for issuing bad checks, Westport Police said. Kyle Ritchie, 37, of 15 Cider Mill Road, turned himself in to police Monday morning and was held on a $6,250 bond for an appearance in Norwalk court. He's accused of issuing a pair of checks for a total of $4,500 in September that didn't have enough money in the account. Police said several unsuccessful attempts were made by the complainants and police to have him pay the amount.  A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Hume Promoted To Lieutenant In Norwalk Police Department NORWALK, Conn., -- Norwalk Police Lieutenant Bruce Hume was promoted from the rank of sergeant. Lt. Hume was hired on March 5, 1981 and has worked as a patrol officer, detective and sergeant. Lt. Hume has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Bike Unit, Youth Bureau, Special Services Division, Detective Bureau and most recently the Special Victims Unit. Lt. Olga Rincon, 63, of Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny.  The homeowner filed a complaint in December that checks had been written and signed in her name, police said. State Police Investigating Norwalk Police Pursuit That Ended With Fatality NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police have taken over the investigation in to a Norwalk Police pursuit that ended in a crash and a fatality Thursday morning, police said.
