Sandy Hook Man Charged By Westport Police With Issuing Fraudulent Checks WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Sandy Hook man is facing a pair of charges for issuing bad checks, Westport Police said. Kyle Ritchie, 37, of 15 Cider Mill Road, turned himself in to police Monday morning and was held on a $6,250 bond for an appearance in Norwalk court. He's accused of issuing a pair of checks for a total of $4,500 in September that didn't have enough money in the account. Police said several unsuccessful attempts were made by the complainants and police to have him pay the amount. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Pedestrian Seriously Hurt In Hit-And-Run; Stamford Police Seek Driver STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police are seeking help from the public in finding a hit-and-run driver involved in an accident at 2:40 a.m. Sunday that left a man seriously injured. The accident occurred on West Main Street (Route 1) at Richmond Hill Avenue. A man police have tentatively identified as Gilberto Monroy was attempting to cross West Main Street from south to north when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle, police said. Hume Promoted To Lieutenant In Norwalk Police Department NORWALK, Conn., -- Norwalk Police Lieutenant Bruce Hume was promoted from the rank of sergeant. Lt. Hume was hired on March 5, 1981 and has worked as a patrol officer, detective and sergeant. Lt. Hume has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Bike Unit, Youth Bureau, Special Services Division, Detective Bureau and most recently the Special Victims Unit. Lt. Hume will now be assigned to Internal Affairs.

Westport Police Arrest Two Teens In Attempted Check Fraud At Citibank WESTPORT, Conn. — Two people are facing charges in connection with attempting to cash a fraudulent check on Tuesday at a local bank, Westport Police said. Officers called to Citibank at 399 Post Road W. about the check incident were notified that the suspect's vehicle was still in the area, police said. Bridgeport Woman Wrote Out Checks In Employer's Name To Herself, Cops Say WESTPORT, Conn. — A housekeeper allegedly did a little cleaning out of a client's account in December, Westport Police said. Olga Rincon, 63, of Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree forgery and sixth-degree larceny. The homeowner filed a complaint in December that checks had been written and signed in her name, police said. She suspected the housekeeper had done it because no one else had access to the home, police said. The checks totaled $500, police said. State Police Investigating Norwalk Police Pursuit That Ended With Fatality NORWALK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police have taken over the investigation in to a Norwalk Police pursuit that ended in a crash and a fatality Thursday morning, police said.
