Fire Extensively Damages Norwalk Home Monday Morning NORWALK, Conn. — Fire officials were working to determine how a fire began in the kitchen at 14 Kettle Ave. on Monday morning, then spread and caused severe damage to the single-family home. Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the fire was discovered by neighbors, who saw flames coming out of the rear of the home after 7 a.m. The fire department arrived and were able to douse the blaze quickly, she said. School Bus Nearly Slides Of Road At Icy Intersection In Greenwich GREENWICH, Conn. — A school bus nearly slid off the road at an icy intersection in backcountry Greenwich on Monday morning. The bus was stuck in a pile of icy snow at Taconic Road at North Street, which is in the north part of Greenwich near the Merritt Parkway. Greenwich Schools are closed this week for winter recess, so it was not clear where the bus was traveling to Monday morning. Norwalk Firefighter Charged With Dealing Cocaine While On Duty NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk firefighter dealt drugs while on duty, according to Norwalk Police, who arrested him Thursday afternoon as he sold cocaine to an undercover officer. Mark W. Monroe, 45, of 4 June Ave., is also facing weapons charges after officers discovered a loaded .45-caliber handgun on top of a dresser in his bedroom that wasn't safely stored and could be accessed by minor children in the home, police said. Bridgeport Man Arrested In Super Bowl Shootout In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Stamford Police have arrested one of the two men they said had a post Super Bowl party shootout. Two Bridgeport Teens Facing Charges In Stamford Robbery STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two 17-year-old Bridgeport residents were arrested Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 29 armed robbery of a teen in Stamford, police said. Easton Police: Man Found Shoeless After Crash Charged With Drunk Driving EASTON, Conn. — A Westport man found shoeless outside of his vehicle after a Jan. 15 accident that blew out all the windows from his vehicle in a violent accident was charged with operating under the influence, Easton Police said Wednesday. Police: Angry Wilton High Student Made Shooting Threat WILTON, Conn. — A Wilton High student was arrested after she made a comment about "shooting them all up" in a chain of events that began after she had poured a cup of coffee into a fellow student's locker, according to her arrest warrant.
