Residents were forced into the cold as the 6 a.m. fire destroyed the four-story building at 215 Charles St., the Post said.
Bridgeport firefighters told the Post that all residents were safe, but one man was rescued from the third floor and taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. A firefighter received minor injuries, added the Post.
The American Red Cross has set up a shelter on Lexington Avenue to help the displaced residents, the Post said.
The fire was reportedly still underway in late morning, according to emergency reports.
