Deon Rodney died after being shot at Just Right Cutz barbershop on Park Avenue at 7:17 p.m. on Saturday, according to police. Two armed men had entered the barbershop and gotten into an altercation, which led to Rodney being shot in the abdomen, police said. He was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he died.

Police told the Connecticut Post that the armed men's intended target had run into the barbershop, followed by one of his pursuers. Rodney jumped out of his chair and tried to subdue the gunman, but was shot, according to the Connecticut Post.
Before he died, Rodney told police that the man who shot him was wearing black and had a ski mask on, and that he had fled south on Park Avenue, according to the Connecticut Post.
