Bowden was born June 8, 1928, in Bridgeport, to Louis and Frances Matera Ferrusi and was a lifelong area resident. Before her retirement, she was an administrative assistant with the City of Bridgeport Housing Code Department for 24 years.
Bowden is survived her children, Mary Beth Bombardieri (Richard) of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Christopher Bowden (Nancy) of Trumbull, and Donna Bowden of Newtown; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Edmund W. Bowden; brother, Dominic Ferrusi; and sisters, Jeen Ferrusi and Anna Mae Sciarappa.
Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 in St. Stephen's Church, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.
