In the past 10 years, Connecticut has paid more than $12.8 million in claims against Metro-North, with the largest of $5 million paid two weeks ago to a woman from Mystic injured in the 2013 derailment that occurred on the Fairfield-Bridgeport border, according to the report.
More than 60 people were injured when one Metro-North train derailed and clipped a second one in May 2013, just east of the Fairfield Metro station.
