- The Connecticut Department of Education released grades on public schools for the first time in years. Schools that ranked in The top 10 percent were noted in Bethel, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, Monroe, New Canaan, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Trumbull. But schools that were found to be in need of improvement were identified in Bridgeport, Brookfield, Danbury, Norwalk and Stamford.
- Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo welcomed, for the first time ever, the birth of a Giant Anteater.
- A woman was killed in an overnight house fire early Wednesday in Danbury. Ten other residents escaped the blaze, but two were seriously injured.
- Stamford police rushed to the parking garage of the Stamford Marriott Hotel after man in his late 30s died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound there.
- Shelton High School mourned a 17-year-old senior who was killed after he was thrown from his car in a rollover crash early Sunday. Police are looking to find a man who may have witnessed the crash.
- Several Fairfield County residents were listed among the world's billionaires by Forbes, including Greenwich's Ray Dalio — founder of the investment firm Bridgewater Associates in Westport — and fellow hedge-fund manager Steve Cohen of Greenwich.
