Travis "Scuz" Satawhite, 38, was sentenced Friday, Nov. 6, for shooting and killed Jermaine Reese on Dec. 27, 2006, according to the ctpost.com.
The victim's mother said the deal was not cleared with the family, but the judge said he felt a trial could end with a hung jury, said the ctpost.com.
Satawhite shot and killed Reese, who had tried tried to set up him Satawhite to be killed in 1998 in an ambush on the courthouse steps that instead left a UPS driver dead, added the ctpost.com.
Satawhite's first trial ended in a hung jury, the ctpost said.
