During the past two decades, 300,000 more people have moved out of Connecticut than have moved in, Forbes said. (Connecticut's current population is about 3.5 million.)
Four of America’s 25 towns with the highest median family incomes are in Fairfield County – New Canaan (#1), Darien (#2), Westport (#5) and Greenwich (#14) and it boasts top hedge funds such as Bridgewater. But Connecticut ranks lowest in the United States in annual economic growth, it sees excessive government spending and offers one of the worst business climates in the country, Forbes reported.
