Woman Found Injured In Whitehall Ride Leads To Unzipped Driver’s Rape, Kidnapping Conviction
A man was convicted of raping and kidnapping a woman who was found injured and highly intoxicated along a quiet Pennsylvania road after a night at a bar, authorities said.
Erik Contes, 43, of Whitehall Township, was found guilty of rape, kidnapping to facilitate a felony, sexual assault, and indecent assault on Thursday, Sept. 3, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said.
The jury began hearing the case Tuesday, Sept. 1, before Judge Robert L. Steinberg and returned its verdict after several hours of deliberation.
