At 7:15 p.m., firefighters responded to Mantoloking Drive and found an active fire throughout one side of the building, Jackson Fire District No. 2 said. The fire was eventually declared under control, firefighters said.
The building did not have any utilities connected, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental , likely resulting from the placement of a propane convection heater too close to available combustible materials, Billhimer said.
