Spotsylvania Pedestrian Crash A 51-year-old man was struck and killed Monday, April 8 in Spotsylvania, police said. James Corsa was crossing Patriot Highway in all-dark clothing when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge caravan heading south around 11:30 p.m., according to Major Troy Skebo of the county sheriff's office.  The area that Corsta was struck in was not in a crosswalk area and was not very well lit. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where he died.  The 61-year-old male driver from Connecticut was not injured and stayed on scene. Drunk Driver Injures Spotsy Sheriff's Deputy In Head-On Crash, Investigators Say Sheriff's deputies in Spotsylvania didn't have to go far to track down a suspect drunk driver, in fact, he came straight for them. A midday call came into the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Dec. 1 regarding a possibly drunk driver who was in the area of Orange Plank Road near the Orange County Line, officials said on Wednesday. Spotsy Motorcyclist, 41, Killed In Head-On Crash A 41-year-old Spotsylvania motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. Kendall Wade Neas was operating a 2016 Suzuki motorcycle on the 4200 block of Massaponax Church Road when he crossed the double yellow line coming out of a curve at a high rate of speed around 6:30 p.m., Major Troy Skebo of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said. Neas struck a 2019 Subaru head-on, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Subaru's 27-year-old driver was treated at the scene and released.
