Shooting Suspect Apprehended For Fatal Midday Double Shooting In Southeast DC, Police Say
A violent weekend in Washington, DC, ended with a shooting suspect in custody following a double murder on Sunday, authorities announced.
Southeast, DC resident James Jones, 41, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder while armed for his alleged role in the deaths of local residents David Wright, 57, and 54-year-old Nathaniel Howard, both of Southeast, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, officers in the Sixth District were called to the 3300 block of D Street in Southeast, DC, to investigate a reported shooting.
