Kia Recalling 260K Sedans Due To Faulty Ceiling Plates That Can Detach, Hit Drivers More than 250,000 older-model Kia sedans are being recalled across the country due to malfunctioning plates in the ceiling of the vehicles that can be dislodged if a side airbag inflates in a crash. Officials announced that certain 2012 and 2013 Kia Optimas are subject to the recall, which the automaker said was caused by improperly secured plates on both sides of the vehicle that could potentially strike drivers or passengers.
