At around 1 a.m. on Oct. 1, Marcus Dandridge, 27, got into an argument with a female relative in the Townsquare at Dumfries Apartments, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
During the argument, Dandridge fired multiple rounds from his gun, into a wall in the apartment, officials reported.
Five children were home at the time, ranging in age between 11 months and five years old, police said.
No injuries were reported, but the woman and children left the apartment shortly after shots were fired, law enforcement said.
Police said Dandridge was charged with five counts of child neglect, one count of shooting in an occupied dwelling, one count of reckless handling, and one count of brandishing.
He had a pending court date and no bond information as available.
