I-95 Bridge Crash Causing 5 Miles Of Backups In Fairfax County
A crash on I-95 caused five miles of backups Tuesday morning, April 23. The crash happened at mile marker 177.9 on the southbound side along the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Fairfax County just outside of Alexandria, according to the VDOT site. As of 9:15 a.m., the south left shoulder, left lane, and center lane are closed.

Boaters Rescued From Capsized Sailboat Near Woodrow Wilson Bridge
A pair of boaters were rescued when their sailboat capsized near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the weekend. Members of Fairfax County Police Department's Marine Patrol Unit helped rescued the pair from the Potomac River Sunday, June 18. The boat was uprighted and safely taken to the Belle Haven Marina. Potomac River Drowning Victim ID'd: Report
Authorities have identified the man who drowned after jumping into the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Memorial Day as Jimmy Orlando Espinoza-Oviedo, NBC Washington reports. The 37-year-old from Oxon Hill jumped from an anchored vessel south of the bridge around 6 p.m., Fox5 said citing Maryland Natural Resources Police. Espinoza-Oviedo was thrown a life jacket but could not get it on before he went unconscious, and a Good Samaritan pulled him from the water, reports say. A 37-year-old man drowned after jumping into the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Memorial Day, Fox5 reports. The man jumped from an anchored vessel south of the bridge around 6 p.m., the outlet said citing Maryland Natural Resources Police. The victim was thrown a life jacket but could not get it on before he went unconscious, and a Good Samaritan pulled him from the water, reports say.
