Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department responded to a serious crash involving a cyclist on Route 123 near Canterberry Road in Fairfax Station at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 22.  Police said that the cyclist - only identified as a man - was reportedly flown to an area trauma center in life-threatening conditions. The crash happened at Braddock Road and Roanoke Road around 1 p.m., Friday, Dec, 9. The officer involved has been rushed to a hospital with serious injuries, according to Fairfax police. Braddock Road continues to be closed between Roanoke River Road and Route 123. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes of travel as the crash is investigated. No really, a pile of trash caught fire and blocked traffic for an hour on Thursday, June 16, police said.  Trash in a garbage truck caught fire along Simpson Road Thursday morning in Fredericksburg, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Fire crews put out the trash fire, but it took an hour to clean the charred garbage, meaning the road was closed near Warrenton Road for an hour, deputies said.  It's unclear what caused the fire. No one was injured — just inconvenienced.

Semi-Truck Rollover Shuts Down Stafford Road A Stafford County road was shut down for several hours Wednesday evening after a semi-truck rolled over and blocked both lanes of traffic.  The Stafford County Sheriff's Office warned drivers to avoid the 300 block of Eskimo Hill Road in Stafford following the afternoon crash. The truck's two open-top trailers were tossed onto their side and stretched across the roadway.
