A motorcyclist died after refusing to stop for Virginia State Police troopers and crashing, authorities announced. Nicholas Thompson, 33, of Ashburn, was killed after attempting to evade a traffic stop while speeding away from troopers before he ultimately lost control and violently crashed. Charges are pending for a driver who fled from police but ultimately struck a tree, inuring his passenger in Loudoun County, authorities said. A Virginia State Police trooper attempted to stop on a Honda SUV heading west on Route 7 near the Loudoun County Parkway around 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, VSP said. Multiple Cars Damaged In Fairfax County By Gunfire (

Fairfax County police were investigating a group of cars that they found were damaged on Friday, Sept. 23, officials said. Sometime before noon, officers arrived at the scene in the 3500 block of South Jefferson Street, where they found between two to three cars with damage caused by gunfire, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Route 7 was closed for law enforcement's investigation and police advised locals to stay clear of that area or shelter in place, authorities said. This story is still developing. A 26-year-old Maryland man was arrested for leading a police pursuit across state lines into Virginia on July 4, authorities announced. Frederick Njihia fired a gun multiple times at a Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission worker and a man standing next to his truck around 9:50 a.m., bringing police to the 11300 block of Hawks Ridge Terrace in Germantown, Montgomery County police said.
