Death Of Former Loudoun County Football Player Spreads Shock, Sadness Profound sadness spread following the death of former Loudoun County football player Jayson Herd. Herd, 21, who played for Independence High School before graduating in 2022 died on Saturday, May 18. In a Facebook post, Jayson's mother said she found him unresponsive.  Circumstances around Herd's death were not immediately clear. 9-Year-Old Girl, Grandmother Killed In Virginia House Fire Crystal Stoderl lost her mother and her child in the same horrific event.  On Tuesday, Sept. 6, at around 1:45 a.m., fire crews arrived at a home in the 6600 block of Barrett Road in Falls Church, where they put out a fire and pulled two victims and a dog from the blaze, officials said. One of the occupants, 9-year-old Kaysie Arancibia, died at a hospital shortly after the incident.  She had just started 4th grade at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, according to WUSA9.
