Capital Beltway Crash Fairfax County As if rush hour on the Capital Beltway wasn't bad enough, a tractor trailer crash jammed up the highway even more on Thursday, May 16. As of press time, delays were being reported due to the southbound crash in Fairfax County. It happened at mile marker 48.8. The south right shoulder was closed as of press time.

Tractor Trailer Driver Struck, Killed On I-81, Police Seeking Info Police in Virginia are seeking the public's help with the investigation of a hit-and-run crash that killed a tractor trailer driver in the roadway of I-81. James W. Carr, Jr., 64, of Alton, NH, was struck by a northbound vehicle sometime between 5 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 on the highway stretch in Shenandoah County, Virginia State Police said. The hit-and-run vehicle did not stop, and could possibly have front end-damage from the crash near the 296-mile marker, police said.
