Crews Rescue Employees Trapped On Transmission Tower In Northwest DC (Updated) UPDATED: The workers were safely removed from the elevator at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rescue operations are in progress in Northwest DC after two employees found themselves in a perilous position hundreds of feet above the ground. DC Fire and EMS personnel were called shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday to a broadcast tower in the 4000 block of Nebraska Avenue NW, with two employees trapped in an elevator on the side of the structure.
