Grad Student Dies Days After Being Struck While Cycling In Northwest DC, Police Say A 24-year-old bicyclist in Northwest DC has died from his injuries at an area hospital days after being struck by a car, officials say. Nijad Huseynov has been identified by members of the Metropolitan Police Department as the person who was killed while biking around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, according to authorities. Police say that Huseynov was biking east in the 1700 block of L Street NW in the bicycle lane when he crossed Connecticut Avenue NW and was struck by a Toyota Camry, ejecting him from the bike.
