A crash on I-395 had traffic backed up Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Fairfax County. It happened on the southbound side around 12:40 p.m. in Lincolnia, near milepost 3.3, the VDOT website says. Traffic was backed up on I-295 on Wednesday afternoon after a pedestrian bridge at Douglas Street NE was struck by debris from a passing vehicle. Fare Evader Takes Walk On The Wild Side Along Metro Train Tracks
A fare evader went through extreme measures to - unsuccessfully - avoid being apprehended by Metro Transit Police officers during the evening commute. Late on Monday afternoon, some commuters were held up when a traveler hopped the turnstile and took a stroll down the tracks at the Naylor Road Metro Station. $15M Project Will Replace 60-Year-Old Bridge In Arlington, Public Urged To Weigh In
The public is being urged to weigh in on a $15 million project planned to replace a 60-year-old bridge in Arlington. The North Old Glebe Road bridge over North Glebe Road (Route 120) was built in 1964 and today, averages 7,000 vehicles a day, the VDOT said. Rehabilitating the bridge would cost 9.75 million, and so, the county has opted to fully replace it. The new bridge will feature a wider sidewalk on the eastern side and an additional sidewalk on the western side. Person In Custody, Being Treated At Hospital After Causing BWI Airport Shutdown
Additional details have been released by the MDTA Police Department one day after traffic was temporarily halted at BWI Airport. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a child was struck by a car on Monday afternoon. An alert was issued by the agency at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, when there were reports of a minor who was hit near the intersection of Bryant Boulevard and Bertram Boulevard in Stafford.
