Trash Compactor Death: Manslaughter Charge Filed In VA Tragedy A Virginia man has been indicted by a grand jury in the death of a worker crushed to death by a trash compactor last year. Michael Lee Gorham, 57, was indicted on Monday, July 17, with manslaughter in the July 7, 2022 death of 28-year-old Brandon Nutter, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Electrical Lineman Recovering From Work Accident In Northern Virginia A Northern Virginia lineman was recovering after he was severely burned at work during a recent storm, his wife said.  Justin McDonald will require artificial skin after an accident that occurred in Winchester the evening of Sunday July 18, according to his wife and the GoFundMe page a friend started. Worker Killed By Spotsylvania Trash Compactor Was Weeks Into Job, Sheriff Says The worker killed by a trash compacter in Spotsylvania County on Thursday July 7 has been identified as a 28-year-old man, authorities said. Brandon Nutter of Mineral was just over two weeks on the job when the incident occurred at the Chancellor Convenience Center just before 8:25 a.m., according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.  Nutter had been working for the Solid Waste Collections Division as a heavy equipment mechanic, authorities said.  The Chancellor Convenience Center will be closed Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9.
