Crews Battle Heat, Two-Alarm Apartment Fire In Fairfax County (Developing) For the second time in three days, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue crews had to beat the heat after being called to battle a raging blaze that broke out in an area home. Before 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, firefighters were called to a two-alarm fire that was reported in the 2700 block of Hollywood Road in West Falls Church, where they were met by an inferno showing from the top floor of the building. Killer Husband Captured 30+ Years After Estranged Wife's Fairfax County Murder: Cops After more than 30 years on the run, a man accused of killing his wife in Fairfax County has been captured, authorities announced. Jose Lazaro Cruz has been wanted since spring of 1991, when he stabbed his wife, Ana Jurado, 24, on the 3100 block of Cofer Road in West Falls Church, county police said.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and Cruz, her estranged husband, was charged on a warrant for felony murder in May 1991.  Cruz fled to El Salvador, and authorities followed — but their efforts in finding him were futile. The Metro Transit Police Department was called shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 to the station to investigate reports of a person who was struck by a train and reportedly dragged. Heads Up Riders: DC Metro To Implement 5 New Station Names The D.C. Metro will implement new names for five stations, the Metro announced. Starting September 11, signage and maps across the metro system will be updated to follow the new name changes, the company said.
