DC Fire and EMS personnel were met by a basement blaze when they were called into action early on Wednesday morning. At around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 7, crews were called to the 5500 block of Chillum Place NE, where there was a reported fire with smoke and flames coming from the basement of an area home.
