Army Officer, 43, Killed In Loudoun County Motorcycle Crash
A 43-year-old Sterling resident and former officer in the United States Army, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Sterling on Saturday, Aug. 5, according to authorities and those who knew him. Joshua Desmond was taken to a hospital following the 9:55 a.m. crash on Corkwood Drive and Cascade Parkway, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office said. He died on Sunday, Aug 6, the Loudon County Sheriff's Office said. The speed of the motorcycle is believed to be a factor in the crash, the Loudon County Sherriff's Office said. The longstanding Confederate Memorial in the Arlington National Cemetery is on its way out, and public input is being sought.
