Police in Virginia are investigating an overnight shooting that left five people injured late on Friday night. Officers from the Lynchburg Police Department were called shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 to BeeBee’s Spot in the 6100 block of Fort Avenue, when witnesses reported hearing shots fired while on the outdoor patio. A Virginia man driving a Tesla who caused a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman in Montgomery County in March has been charged, authorities announced on Thursday. Vincent Anderson, Jr., 36, of Lynchburg, has been charged with criminally negligent manslaughter and failure to control speed to avoid a collision in connection to the death of Silver Spring resident Maria Antonieta Perdomo nearly seven months ago. A Newport News man wanted for attempted murder has been arrested in Stafford, police said. A major retailer primarily located in malls and headquartered in Pennsylvania is set to close all 543 of its stores following its third Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Closures for all rue21 locations are expected to be completed within the next two months with going-out-of-business sales coming soon. A 27-year-old New York man admitted to driving eight hours to Virginia for sex with a 14-year-old girl, his "sugar baby," federal authorities said.
