More details have been released in a double murder Tuesday morning, April 2 in Manassas.
Edward James Jackson Bland, 36, stole a vehicle from a man at gunpoint around 12:45 a.m. on the 8100 block of Portwood Turn in Manassas, county police said.
Sometime before then, Bland is believed to have shot and killed Leann Harris, 34, and Asia Payne, 22, whose bodies were found in a nearby home hours later, when the stolen vehicle broke down near I-66 and I-81, authorities said.

A New York man was found with 123 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle stop along I-81 on Wednesday, March 27, Virginia State Police said.
Jun Yan, 45, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., was stopped for speeding and following to closely near milepost 246 around 2:15 p.m., state police said.
During that search, troopers discovered multiple boxes containing 123 vacuum sealed packages of marijuana, with an estimated street value of over $500,000.

Police in Virginia are seeking the public's help with the investigation of a hit-and-run crash that killed a tractor trailer driver in the roadway of I-81.
James W. Carr, Jr., 64, of Alton, NH, was struck by a northbound vehicle sometime between 5 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 on the highway stretch in Shenandoah County, Virginia State Police said.
