Some commuters in DC are up in arms as the WMATA closes down certain Red Line trains to allow for necessary repairs during the holiday season. The District man who pulled a switchblade on a Metro rider after stealing his backpack is heading to prison, federal authorities announced. A fare evader went through extreme measures to - unsuccessfully - avoid being apprehended by Metro Transit Police officers during the evening commute. Late on Monday afternoon, some commuters were held up when a traveler hopped the turnstile and took a stroll down the tracks at the Naylor Road Metro Station. The ongoing labor dispute between CSX Transportation and its labor unions could have a major impact on riders in Maryland and Virginia.
