Man Swimming With Family In Lake Manassas Drowns, Police Say (Developing) A 45-year-old man died on Sunday afternoon after drowning in Lake Manassas, police say. Shortly after 4:45 p.m. on June 23, officers from the Prince William County Police Department were called to Burwell Road in Nokesville, where there was a person swimming with a family member in the lake when he appeared to struggle before becoming submerged in the water. According to investigators, fire and rescue personnel were able to locate and remove the man from the water, where he was pronounced dead by first responders. The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine …

27-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed By Hit-Run Car In Northern Virginia A 27-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car late Saturday, Feb. 24 in Prince William County. Carla Andrea Mejia was walking in the westbound lane of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge wearing all dark clothing when she was struck around 11:35 p.m., Prince William County police said. The striking vehicle did not stop at the scene near Bobcat Court, police said. Fire and rescue personnel responded, where Mejia was pronounced dead.  The vehicle is believed to be an unknown model Hyundai. Police were called to a home in the 14800 block of Dillon Avenue shortly before 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6 where they located a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man suffering from injuries from people they say identified themselves as law enforcement, according to Prince William County police.
