DUI Maryland Driver Kills California Pedestrian In Arlington: Police A 38-year-old Maryland man was drunk when he struck and killed a 71-year-old woman crossing the street in Arlington, VA on Monday night, May 22, authorities said. Alvaro Alejandro Pacheco Ramos, of Columbia, struck Susan Hamlin, 71, of Aptos, CA, as she was crossing the 4800 block of King Street around 10:05 p.m., Arlington County police said. Hamlin was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Ramos was charged with DUI/Involuntary Manslaughter. He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility. Washington Liberty Student-Athlete Braylon Meade Killed In Arlington Crash A high school basketball player has died in a Northern Virginia crash, and another juvenile has been charged in his death, according to officials and county police. Braylon Meade, a senior basketball player at Washington-Liberty High School, was trying to make a U-turn on Old Dominion Drive when he was struck by a speeding SUV around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, Arlington County police said.
