An investigation has been launched in Northeast DC after an off-duty District of Columbia Housing Authority Police Sergeant was shot, according to officials. At around 5 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, members of the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 2200 block of New York Avenue NE when a sergeant was struck by gunfire while riding in his personal vehicle. Man Found Beaten To Death In Park Blocks From White House
Officials say that a Secret Service officer found a man beaten to death - possibly with a metal pipe - in a park near the White House after being flagged down by a jogger who found the body on Wednesday morning.
