Traffic was tied up on I-295 in Northeast DC as crews responded to a fatal crash and car fire on Friday morning. DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Benning Road NE shortly before 7 a.m. on March 29, where there was a reported multi-vehicle crash with one on that went up in flames. Subaru Recalling 272K SUVs Due To Potential Fire Hazard
Hundreds of thousands of Subaru SUVs are the latest vehicles subject to a nationwide recall due to the potential they could unexpectedly catch fire. The auto giant announced a recall of 271,694 Subaru Ascent SUVs with produced in the 2019 through 2022 model years due to a faulty electrical grounding bolt that may have been improperly fastened, according to the company. The charred body found inside of a burning car in the middle of a Laurel field has been confirmed to be the victim of a homicide, authorities say. The victim, who was so badly burned that the race, sex, or estimated age could not be determined, is confirmed to have died of a gunshot wound. Outdoor Structure Goes Up In Flames From Car Fire In DC
An outdoor structure in D.C. was set on fire after a car burst into flames beneath it, police said. Just before 4:30 a.m. on August 21, a car fire sent a large outdoor structure up in flames, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Two fire units extinguished the blaze and investigators were at the scene, officials reported. Law enforcement said no injuries were reported.
