Support is surging for a 7-year-old girl who suffered a brain injury returning from a day-trip to Virginia with her family. Alani Flores and her family of five were on their way back to Washington DC from Lake Anna on Friday, July 7, when they were involved in an accident, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched for the family. A 22-year-old man was put under a medically induced coma after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in DC, NBC4 Washington reports. Sam Kesselman was heading to work on a scooter when an SUV struck him and sped off at New Jersey Avenue and P Street NW around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, the outlet says citing police and family.
