Arlington Black Bear Arlington residents have been reporting multiple sightings of a young black bear roaming neighborhoods Monday morning, May 13. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington said it was made aware of "several" reported sightings of the juvenile black bear. ARLNow reports multiple sightings from users of the Nextdoor app, including a spotting on the 2500 block of North Florida Street, and another Monday morning on North Harrison and 26th Street. The first to come to the shelter were Shih Tsu's Taavi and Trella, who "had been kept in terrible conditions, cramped in filthy cat crates in their owner’s bathroom," AWLA said. The owner surrendered them and they both went on to find loving homes.
