Investigators worked around the clock and have arrested a driver who was wanted in connection to the fatal hit-and-run of a 19-year-old in Southeast DC last summer. Smoke and fire quickly spread through a building in Southeast DC on Thursday afternoon, though crews were able to quickly corral the flames. At around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, DC Fire and EMS personnel were working in the 300 block of 11th Street SE when a fire broke out in a first floor trash chute of a three-story mixed-use apartment building. New details have been released by the Metropolitan Police Department as they continue investigating a double murder on Sunday morning. At approximately 8:20 a.m. on Sunday, March 12, members of the department were called to the 500 block of 11th Street SE, where there were multiple reports of a shootout and traffic accident in the area.
