Northeast DC resident Irving Laboard was located by members of the Metropolitan Police Department shortly before 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3 on Fort Dupont Drive SE suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The teen was treated by DC Fire and EMS personnel, who performed life-saving measures, but Laboard was pronounced dead by first responders.
Laboard was one of two teens killed in the District this week as violence among youths continues to escalate in the city.
No details about a possible motive or suspect has been released by investigators.
As of Friday, April 5, there have been 43 homicides reported in DC, according to the department, down from 60 at the same time a year ago, a 28 percent decrease. All crime is also down 14 percent year to year.
