Mark A. Blue, 34, was found guilty of the December 2018 assault of a woman who they targeted as she walked home from the Naylor Road Metro Station in Prince George's County.

Prosecutors say that Blue and a second man, Nick Savoy, forced her into a car, threatened to kill her, covered her eyes with her own shirt so she could not see, then sexually assaulted her in Maryland.

Then, Blue drove the woman to Southeast DC, where he forced her to provide her ATM information, and the two "drained her bank account of every cent as Blue assaulted her again."

According to court documents, Blue then drove the victim to an alley where both men sexually assaulted her again, leaving her there naked with her shirt covering her head.

Officials made note that at the time of the sexual assault, Blue was under supervised release for a 2013 armed robbery conviction.

Days after the attack, on Dec. 5, 2018, Blue quit his job and fled to North Carolina; however, a tipster recognized his mugshot on the news and alerted the police to his presence there, where he was also wanted for robbing and kidnapping a girl.

Blue was tracked down in North Carolina and arrested in late January 2019. He has been in custody since.

The jury found Blue guilty of:

  • Kidnapping;
  • Conspiracy to commit kidnapping;
  • Kidnapping while armed;
  • Robbery while armed;
  • Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse while armed.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in June, when Blue will face life in prison.
