Attempted Murder Charge For DC Man Involved In Near-Fatal Silver Spring Shooting: Police

Police say that a Washington, DC man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for a shooting earlier this summer in Maryland.

Anthony Green, 37, has ben taken into custody in connection to a shooting on Saturday, July 15 in Silver Spring, authorities announced on Friday..

On the day of the shooting, police say that a man walked into the fire station in the 8100 block of Georgia Avenue at approximately 2 p.m. suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso.

He was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries, but survived.

The investigation into the near-fatal shooting led police to identify Green as a suspect after the pair allegedly got into an argument that escalated, resulting in his victim being shot twice.

Green is being held in Washington, DC on separate offenses until he can be brought back to Maryland to face attempted first-degree murder and other charges.
