Ruth Buzzi, Famed Comedic Actress, Dies After Long Illness
Ruth Buzzi, the life-long comedienne best known for her role on "Rowan & Martin Laugh-In," has died, her family announced on Facebook. She was 88.
Buzzi, born in Rhode Island but raised in Stonington, Connecticut, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2012 and suffered a stroke in 2022. She died peacefully in her sleep while in hospice care, her family wrote on Facebook.
Forbes wrote that Buzzi began her showbiz career at just 19, when she began performing in a Broadway musical revue that traveled the East Coast, Forbes reported.

A rare but serious virus linked to rodents claimed the life of Betsy Arakawa, the wife of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, health officials said.
Arakawa, 65, died from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome on Tuesday, Feb. 11, a full week before the 95-year-old Hackman died from cardiovascular disease and advanced Alzheimer’s, New Mexico’s chief medical examiner revealed at a press conference Friday, March 7.
The couple of more than 35 years–along with one of their three dogs–was found dead inside their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, as Daily Voice reported.

Academy Award-winning actor Gene Hackman, his wife, and family dog have died at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The cause of death has not been confirmed, but foul play is not suspected, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement after they were found dead late Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 26. No further information has been released as of yet.
