A 41-year-old Maryland man who brutally beat a man to death in DC has admitted to the crime and agreed to a deal that will see him spend more than a decade behind bars, federal authorities announced on Friday. District Heights resident Chanos Monroe - also known as "Chanos Gillis" - pleaded guilty on Oct. 11 to a pair of charges in connection to the 2022 murder of Keith Sistare, 52, at a BP gas station in Northeast DC.
