A 56-year-old man was forced to shoot a dog that got loose and went after him while he was walking his own pet in Prince William County over the weekend, police say. Officers were called on Saturday, Oct. 19 to a neighborhood in Manassas when the man and other family members were walking their dogs and were accosted by a pit bull that broke free from a nearby home. A pair of dogs are being held in custody by police in Virginia following multiple incidents where they went after area residents in Prince William County, police say. Baby Alligator Confiscated From Home By Spotsy Sheriff's Office
A baby alligator is settling into its new home at the Luray Zoo after being confiscated from a local resident. The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said the county's animal control division confiscated the young animal. "These creatures are not native to Virginia and personal ownership without proper licensing is illegal throughout the Commonwealth," the sheriff's office said.
