Cox Farms Mourns Loss Of Iconic Barn, Chickens After Devastating Fire In Fairfax County A massive fire tore through a historic barn at Cox Farms in Centreville early Sunday morning, killing multiple chickens and leaving a path of destruction, officials said. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units rushed to the 15600 block of Braddock Road around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 after receiving reports of a large fire at the family-owned farm.  Around 4:30am #FCFRD responded to a large barn fire at Cox Farms in the 15600 blk of Braddock Rd in Centreville. Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Fairfax County A 46-year-old pedestrian was killed and another injured by a Jeep in Fairfax County earlier this week. Rubia Marisol Vasquez Matteo, of Clifton, was crossing Pickwick Road outside of the crosswalk with another man when a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee heading east struck them at Braddock Road in Centreville around 9:50 p.m. Monday, June 24, county police said. Matteo was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other pedestrian sustained injuries considered non-life-threatening.
